I shoulda listened.
I would have been what they always hoped for me.
I would have fulfilled their dreams.
I should have finished college. I should have stayed.
But I ran. I ran far.
Into the arms of freedom.
Chains broke free.
Hearts shattered in the distance.
My own soul opened up.
I live on my own terms.
I shoulda turned left…
